WooCommerce Parcelforce Integration
Creating consignments

Consignments can be created from two locations on your WooCommerce Dashboard; the admin shop order list and the admin order detail screen.

Bulk creating consignments

With the WooCommerce Parcelforce integration plugin, it’s possible to create shipping consignments in bulk.

In order to bulk create shipping consignments:

  1. From the WordPress Admin Dashboard
  2. Find WooCommerce item located in the main menu (black sidebar)
  3. Hover your mouse over the menu item.
  4. Click Orders from the items that are revealed.
  5. Select the orders you’d like to create shipping consignments for. Using the checkbox on the left of each order.
  6. From the bulk actions dropdown select Parcelforce – Generate Labels
  7. Click Apply

The consignment creation panel will then slide in from the right side of the screen. Complete the form shown within the panel and click Generate Labels.

International consignments cannot be bulk created. Instead, you will have to create each one individually.

Creating single consignments

You can also create and manage your consignments for orders individually by:

  1. From the WordPress Admin Dashboard
  2. Find WooCommerce item located in the main menu (black sidebar)
  3. Hover your mouse over the menu item.
  4. Click Orders from the items that are revealed.
  5. Click on the order id for the order you’d like to create a consignment for. (to view the full order details).
  6. In the right column, you’ll now see a box labelled “Parcelforce Consignments” if the order has consignments they will be shown here. If the order has no consignments you will see a blue create consignment button.
  7. Click Create consignment

The consignment creation panel will then slide in from the right side of the screen. Complete the form shown within the panel and click Generate Labels.

Consignment creation panel

The consignment creation panel is used to specify the settings that will be passed to the Parcelforce WDMO and create the consignment.

“Creating consignments for” will show how many orders you are currently creating consignments for.

“Service” The Parcelforce service that you’d like to ship the orders parcels under. Refer to your Parcelforce account manager to verify which services are available to you.

“I need the parcels to be delivered by or on a Saturday.” If your orders delivery day lands on a Saturday, and the shipment should be made on the Saturday as opposed to Monday check this box.

For example, if your creating consignments with a service of Express24 and a shipment on a Friday, checking this option will mean Parcelforce will attempt delivery on Saturday; it will likely add an additional cost to your Parcelforce contract.

“Shipment date”, The shipment date is the date that Parcelforce will collect the items from you.

“Notifications”, Are the notifications that will be sent to the customer by Parcelforce, your options are:

  • Email Notification, which will enable all email notification types.
  • Email day of despatch, which will send an email the day the parcel is dispatched.
  • Email day of delivery, which will send an email the day the parcel should be delivered.
  • Email attempted delivery, which will send an email on an attempted delivery.
  • SMS day of despatch, which will send a text message the day the parcel is dispatched.
  • SMS day of delivery, which will send a text message to the customer on the day the parcel is due to arrive.
  • SMS before delivery, which will send a text message to the customer shortly before the parcel is due to arrive.
  • SMS attempted delivery, which will send a text message to the customer when a delivery is attempted.

“Shipment details” contains two fields, Total Weight and # of parcels.

  • Total Weight is the total weight of the individual consignment (order), for most Parcelforce contracts this field can be left blank.
  • # of parcels is the number of boxes within a consignment (order), note that each parcel will have a maximum weight limit of 30kg, so if an order is 35kg you will need to separate it into two parcels and specify 2 in this field.

“Compensation” is the amount of compensation you’d like assigned to your consignment, note that Parcelforce will charge you for higher tiers of compensation.

“Hazardous Goods” is required if the consignment has any hazardous liquids.

“Safe Places” is the locations that the delivery driver can leave a parcel if no one is home.

“Update order status to…” allows you to select the order status to update to once the consignment has been created.

After creating a consignment

Once you’ve created your consignments you’ll be shown a list containing the order number, Parcelforce consignment number, and the print label buttons.

You can print the labels for each consignment individually or use the “Print all labels” button located at the top of the consignment creation panel.
